The HR/Payroll Specialist owns all aspects of payroll, providing a high level of customer service to employees. They must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels, and be able to demonstrate efficiency and flexibility in performing detailed tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain payroll information – analyze, prepare, input and process payroll data.
Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
Update payroll records as necessary and approve changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, job titles, department changes, etc. within the system.
Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Maintain employee files
Ensure tax notices and rate changes are updated timely within the payroll system
Prepares employee statistics for benefit census and government reporting
Administers leave of absences; Family Medical Leave (FMLA), Short Term Disability (STD), and Long Term Disability (LTD)
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Previous payroll processing experience preferred
Experience with ADP Workforce now preferred
Experience in HRIS required
