Spartan Capital Group has a need for a Payroll Accountant in the Detroit Metropolitan area. This is a direct hire opportunity with a well-established global client. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of general ledger accounting and multi state payroll processing.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing timesheets for US and international payroll
• Ensure proper set up of state tax codes for each employee
• Ensure accurate processing of new hires, status changes, tax updates
• Perform account and bank reconciliations 
• Perform GL analysis and assist with ME close

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting is required
• Minimum of 3-5 years payroll processing experience
• Experience with Workday software is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with Excel (pivot tables, v look up)

Employment Type:

• Full-Time; Direct hire
• $90K-$100K/yr, depending on experience
