Role Overview The Payroll Manager will be tasked with overseeing the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, along with serving as a system application lead for payroll software. This individual will collaborate with IT, Human Resources, and various teams to manage system enhancements, address compliance needs, and continuously refine payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead payroll team to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
Collaborate with IT to manage system changes and upgrades.
Ensure compliance with federal/state laws and regulations.
Handle payroll taxes, workers' compensation, and year-end tax reporting (W-2s).
Provide journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger support.
Maintain employee privacy and protect payroll operations.
Must-Haves:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, IT, Business, or related field.
Experience:
7+ years in advanced payroll processing (ERP systems).
3+ years in supervisory roles.
Systems Experience: Oracle or PeopleSoft payroll systems, Kronos timekeeping software.
Skills:
Strong payroll law, multi-state payroll, and union payroll knowledge.
SQL and basic Business Intelligence tools knowledge.
