Position: Assembly Test Team Lead

Reports to: Production Manager

Location: Taylor, MI

Job Description:

We are seeking an Assembly Test Team Lead to oversee and enhance the assembly testing processes. This role involves setting and maintaining testing standards, ensuring quality requirements are met, and managing the testing team and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and manage testing processes, procedures, instructions, forms, and equipment.
  • Lead the assembly testing team, ensuring all standards are met with an established accountability rhythm.
  • Optimize and handle all training for the team, including the development of training documents.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean testing environment.
  • Quickly and efficiently troubleshoot and detect defects in the final product.
  • Handle escalations and communicate effectively with the Production Manager.
  • Collaborate effectively with the production planning team on production planning and resource allocation.
  • Work with the tech support team to address escalated issues and handle customer feedback.
  • Cooperate with the quality department on quality-related issues.
  • Follow up on all open actions related to testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of testing-related experience.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience with measuring instruments (e.g., multimeter, micrometer, calipers, hipot, pressure gauges, etc.).
  • Electrical experience, certification preferred.
  • Water pressure experience, certification preferred.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience in creating procedures and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems or similar software.
  • Experience in a small manufacturing environment preferred, especially with the assembly of multi-component equipment.
