This is a highly visible leadership role reporting directly to the Plant Manager, with responsibility for both people leadership and day-to-day quality execution.

The organization is seeking a leader who can balance shop-floor presence with strategic quality leadership—someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves while also engaging confidently with senior leadership, customers, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

    • 2 Senior Quality Engineers

    • Up to 4 Quality Technicians

  • Drive real-time problem solving and root cause analysis using structured, data-driven methodologies

  • Maintain a strong, consistent presence on the manufacturing floor (this is not an office-bound role)

  • Interface regularly with Corporate Quality, Plant Leadership, customers, and suppliers

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives with a strong zero-defect mindset

  • Support audits, customer issues, supplier quality, and cross-site quality alignment

  • Travel up to 25% to other facilities, suppliers, and customer locations (MI, IN, MX)

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required

    • (Business degree acceptable with significant quality leadership experience)

  • Proven experience leading quality teams in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong background in:

    • Root cause analysis

    • Six Sigma / structured problem-solving tools

    • Data-driven decision making

  • A leadership style that blends:

    • Technical credibility

    • Calm, confident interpersonal presence

    • The ability to coach, mentor, and develop others

  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to drive results without micromanagement

Ideal Leadership Profile

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Sound, timely decision-making with a bias toward action

  • Strong mentoring and coaching capabilities

  • Deep problem-solving expertise and subject matter ownership

  • The ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Strategic thinking paired with execution discipline

  • Passion for quality, continuous improvement, and cultural transformation

  • Comfort traveling on short notice and supporting a multi-site operation

  • A collaborative, feedback-seeking approach with a natural Gemba presence

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual Bonus: 18% target

  • Relocation: Full relocation support available

  • Benefits: Competitive and comprehensive package

Why This Role

  • Opportunity to influence quality culture and drive meaningful improvement

  • Strong organizational support and clear expectations
